Well, yesterday was a truly wonderful Parental descent, to be quite honest. They remembered the things I asked for, which is quite a miracle for Daddy Bason, and even turned up with a Garlic Press! After slicing my finger a few weeks ago with the knives I got for Christmas, Mummy Bason decided a press was necessary on safety grounds.
We had a lovely Sunday lunch at the Battlefield 1403 farm shop, which is on the site of the Shrewsbury Battlefield. Fresh beef from the farm and some rather huge Yorkshire puddings, we also spent a considerable amount of time (and money...) in the farm shop, but we got lovely things for tea that evening, the Grandma's mothers day gifts and a heap of other goodies!
After spending a while there, we spent the remainder of the day pottering around Shrewsbury. Unfortunately not too many of the shops were open, but Smiths was, so I popped in there to see my friend. Shrewsbury is such a pretty little town, with some wonderful independent shops, which I'm going to have more of a look round when I go again on Wednesday.
Due to going to a gig there in the evening, I've decided that a visit to the shops when they're open, and a potter round the castle will be a nice way to spend Wednesday afternoon. Even nicer knowing that the castle and museum are free entry for students!
Anyway, it's back to the lectures grind stone today, so I must actually get ready!
Over and out.
