I really don't like Mondays this year, my lectures are truly rubbish! I had Contemporary Countryside and Environmental Issues last year, which was interesting, informative and worth getting up at 9am on a Monday for. Now, I have Research Methods, which, yes will be important for fourth year etc, I know, but currently, it feels like I'm back at school doing Maths and English. In all honesty, if I wanted to still be doing Maths and English, I'd have studied those at Uni, but I didn't, so I haven't!
That is promptly followed by Planning, Law and Practise. Which I chose to do, granted, but I really wish I hadn't. It really is just boring and I can't say that EPJ is the most inspiring lecturer either. She knows her stuff but talks in monotone and doesn't make the subject in any way engaging. Today it was Minerals and Waste, I really don't have that much interest in either... Oh well, Tuesdays are good days, I always look forward to them more due to Mondays.
Another gripe I have today is with the NHS. I have a various array of health problems, and as the boyf says, I used my NHS quota up years ago, but never mind. Last month I had two fun-filled Friday nights in A&E (no, I hadn't been drinking...) with horrific stomach and back pain, almost like a elastic band had been placed around me, just below my ribs. The second time I went, I had extra tests done, and they think I have gall stones. Not ideal, but no choice in the matter, as advised by the lovely doctor at Leicester Infirmary to visit my doctor the following Monday so that I could get a referral for an Ultrasound scan back here in Shropshire.
I got an appointment that afternoon, and was referred to the cottage hospital here in Newport, for the following Monday. Ideal. Went dutifully along to the appointment, only to be told I was referred to the wrong place and actually needed to be referred to Telford. Went back to the doctors and they did so.
I got a letter last week, asking me to ring them on a mobile number (odd...) at any time Monday to Friday... between 8:00am and 12:00pm. Convenient, for them. So, I've tried and tried to ring, but no one answers this bloody phone. EVER. But if I don't book my appointment within 14 days I will be struck off the list, and will need to be re-referred. Thanks a bloody lot NHS, y'know the service that's meant to care for us!
Oh well, maybe tomorrow by some miracle they will answer me and finally give me appointment (which will probably be some time in July). Now I need to have some lunch before leading a fun student life afternoon of washing and ironing...
Ta-ra. Enjoy your day.
